Description: This rare Traditional painting depicts Ngapa (Water) Dreaming. It shows artist’s country during wet season with 2 rivers, valleys, rockholes, hills and clouds. In times of drought senior men (and women) would go to sites like these and perform the rain-making dances and songs. It was the rain making ancestors who created sites like these as they travelled across the land during the creation times, also called The Dreamtime in English, and the Tjukurpa by the desert tribes. As well as the wavy lines depicting the running water after rains, rock pools are shown, a bush shelter at one end, and parallel lines depicting lightning. The dots represent the colours and contours of the land were aboriginal people have known how to survive and live in harmony with the land for thousands of years. This is her fathers dreaming from the Puyurra area, west of Yuendumu. A rare Blue Chip Investment
