Description: This bold traditional painting depicts sacred sites created by Tingari ancestors at Kanapilynga, south east of Lake McKay where they performed initiation ceremonies. Throughout this site exists a number of soakageā€™s & rock hole sites surrounded by sandhill country The strong rhythmic patterning reflects the light reflecting off the vast dry sunbaked desert landscape. The Tingari people form part of the teachings of the post initiate youths today as providing explanations for contemporary customs.
