Description: Amanyi Dora Haggie was born at Tempie Downs cattle station around 1938 and moved to school at Areyonga where she learned to speak Arrernte. After living at various stations and communities, she settled in Ernabella. She works at the Ernabella Arts Centre, making ceramics, batiks, beanies and paintings. She comes from a long line of artists and has been painting since 1970 and her work has been shown across Australia including Uluru and Tandanya Cultural Centre. This traditional painting depicts rock hole sites in the area of the artists birthplace. This site is a prominent hunting site where kangaroos and other bush animals have been hunted by Aboriginal people for thousands of years
