Janice Collins Nangala

Janice Collins Nangala, born 1-7-55 in the bush at Mt Allen cattle station near Yuendumu, Northern Territory. Anmatyerre/ Warlpiri Tribe, her country is Mt. Wedge & Mt. Allen (Kerinyarra).
Began painting in 1979 & the demand for her work has increased over the years & has taken part in many group exhibitions & held solo exhibitions throughout Australia.
Her mother Molly Napangardi from Yuelumu was the first women artist to start painting at Mt Allan & created her designs on green tent canvas. Her father Jack Cook was also a respected artist.
Her Dreamings originate from Warlukurlongu, her Fathers & Grandfathers descendants country involving Emu, Flying Ant, Water, Possum and Women’s Ceremonies. She has emerged as a highly respected artist in her own right whose artworks are sought after by collectors worldwide.
Her artworks have been sold thru the art Co-operatives of Mt Allen, Yuendumu & Galleries in Alice Springs, Melbourne & Sydney
